New standards in compact housing sizes 8x10.2mm and 10x10.2mm
AEC-Q200 compliant ZTU series sets new standards for capacitance, ripple current, endurance and temperature tolerance in the compact case sizes of 8x10.2mm and 10x10.2mm. Advancing the performance specifications of the popular ZT and ZC series of electrolytic polymer hybrid capacitors, PANASONIC Industry introduces the new ZTU series with exceptional reliability and ruggedness for any demanding application.

ZTU is a miniaturization of ZT series and impresses with significantly higher capacitance with the same dimensions, voltage, ESR, ripple current, service life and temperature. Compared to the ZKU series, which is also a miniaturised version in terms of capacitance per voltage and case size, the ZTU series also has a lower ESR and a higher ripple current capability.
For higher temperature applications ZTU provides an additional specification at 135°C with a guaranteed life time of 4000h. Compared to the ZE series this brings the advantage of higher capacitance, lower ESR and higher ripple current per case size.
With all those features, ZTU is best combination of capacitance/voltage, ripple current and ESR per case size for the dimensions 8x10.2mm and 10x10.2mm.
This is highly relevant for a wide range of applications, as Hirofumi Maruyama from PANASONIC Industry Europe summarises: “The ZTU series is setting new standards with its ripple current and capacitance specs, and guarantees circuit safety at one of the highest temperature ranges currently available on the market. As well as many others, it reliably qualifies for being applied in DC/DC or AC/DC inverters, robotics, rectifier circuits - and in particular for automotive applications where conditions turn out to be exceptionally severe”.
Speaking of tough: PANASONIC Industry also offers a vibration-resistant version of the ZTU capacitors with 8mm and 10mm diameters. These are able to handle shocks of up to 30G, while the standard parts also have a vibration tolerance of 10G.
ZTU series is available with a rated voltage of 25V~35VDC and a capacitance range of 220~560µF with a rating at 125°C/135°C/4000h.
