Galvanically Non Isolated DC/DC Converter
Galvancally non-isolated DC/DC converters are used in a wide variety of industrial (IEC/EN-UL-CSA62368-1) and medical applications (IEC/EN-UL-CSA60601-1 4th Edition). In addition to these main groups, special certifications must be covered such as, for instance IEC/EN50155 (EN50121-32, EN61373) for railway technology, which comprises EMC (EMI), ESD, surge, transients and vibration and shock resistance, or also the household appliance standard IEC/EN-UL- CSA60335-1.
Non-insulated POL converter modules (Point of Load) are mostly used in higher currents up to 100A directly at the load. This is particularly the case when very fast load control is required and very dynamic systems such as, e.g. an FPGA or a processor must be supplied with current.
