Resistive Touchscreens
Resistive Touchscreens React to Pressure
When pressure is applied to the surface of the screen, two electrically conductive layers come into contact, causing electrical current to flow. The pressure point is identified by detecting this change in voltage.
This is the reason why the design does not allow the use of front or protective glass, as this would render the resistive touch panels inoperable. Within the family of resistive touch screens there are some additional designs.
Samples ContactsAdditional Designs
- The "four-wire" resistive touchscreen, which is the standard type
- The "five-wire" resistive touchscreen that improves the gradual loss of precision
- The "six-wire", "seven-wire", or "eight-wire" resistive touchscreen which are used depending on the application
